Safety Announcement – aiM Festival

Not long to go for the Festival of the year!! Please take the time to read the below so that the day can be enjoyable and a huge success.

With Safety at the forefront of our minds when planning the festival we have taken every precaution to ensure that the day is safe for all people attending, but this will only get us so far – we need your commitment to follow some basic rules so that everyone on the day is SAFE and ENJOYS the festival to the fullest.

Grounding and Footwear and Weather:
The aiM Festival is hosted in a field, so please plan footwear accordingly – the ground is uneven and has dips and troughs throughout. Where we have rolled and packed the field as much as we can, please make sure you do your part and wear sensible footwear for a field (Wellies, hiking boots are doc’s are ideal)
The weather is unpredictable at the best of times, so we suggest bringing lightweight gear so that if there is a temporary shower, you are covered (literally 😉) This again presents slip hazards so ensure you wear the correct footwear on the day
Trips, Slips and Falls will be the main hazard so we will have St. Johns Ambulance on site to help if needed or provide advice – We have taken all precautionary measures as far as is reasonably practical so festival goers enter the site at their own risk and will also agree to take all necessary precautions to protect their own safety and the safety of others. Festival goers also agree to the site rules published on the festival website (www.aimfestival.co.uk)

Pick Up / Drop Off:
Only vehicles with an authorised car parking pass will be allowed access to the Shakes on the Rocks site, there is no ‘Drop Off Zone’ so please get dropped off at a safe place close to the site entrance and enter the site via the designated entrances with your digital or physical ticket ready to show, your ticket will be exchanged for a wrist band which must be worn throughout the festival attendance
Vehicles with a car parking pass will be directed to the car park where
stewards will direct you to the next available parking space (Please ensure the pass is displayed in the vehicle window and your festival tickets are ready to display) – please do not park anywhere other than where you are being directed to.
*IMPORTANT*
From the car park there is a steep incline to walk to the main site, if you struggle to walk up stairs or hills then you will need to be dropped off prior to the vehicle being taken to the car park – in situations where this is not possible, as a steward for support once your car is parked.

Smoking & Vaping:
There will be designated smoking areas for cigarettes, cigars and other tobacco related products and vaping, these areas are the only areas on the site where Smoking and Vaping is permitted.

Animals:
No Dogs allowed unfortunately as there are farming animals and other wildlife in the area that need to be considered.

Entrance:
Only persons with a valid ticket on the day will be allowed access, only vehicles with a car pass displayed will be permitted to access the site.

Gazebos / Tents / Pop Up Umbrellas:
Gazebos are only to be placed in the designated areas and no other area, no tents or temporary covers to be erected as this will cause a slip or trip hazard and impact the views of others.

The Legal Bit:
aiM Charity accepts no legal responsibility for any accidents or injuries that may occur.
The festival site is an open field and therefore expect there will be uneven surfaces, pot holes, tree roots and potentially wet grass.
Please keep clear of marquee pins and ropes.
Occasionally it may be necessary to segregate visitors from moving vehicles so please assist us and follow any instructions given by the stewards who can be identified by Hi-Viz vests with the ‘aiM’ branding.

In very rare circumstances our stewards are under instruction to protect the festivals integrity at all times and if you are found to consistently break any of the rules, become abusive towards others / the stewards or enter without a ticket - you will be asked to leave the site and festival without refunds.
